The Arc's Youth Skiing Programs
The Arc offers a variety of choices that cater to different interests, skill levels and ages. Among these, The Arc's core programs are: Alpine Racing and All-Mountain, both catering for young skiers aged 8yrs+. Mini and Tiny Arc are The Arc's programs for the younger siblings of the family aged 4-7yrs. Understanding the unique features of each program can help parents and young skiers make the right program choice to achieve your goals.
Alpine Racing Program
The Alpine Racing program at The Arc is aimed at developing competitive ski racing abilities. This program caters to young skiers interested in racing who wish to refine their technique, increase speed and boost their overall ski racing performance.
It is important to understand that children in the Alpine Racing program may not spend the whole day in gates, as that approach may not be best for their long-term skiing development. For those still refining their alpine technique, it is essential to build strong foundations across different snow conditions and terrain. Generally, children aged 7-10 in the program will spend time skiing across the entire mountain, including off-piste, ski x, parks, moguls and other terrain, as well as time in the gates. This is crucial for their growth as alpine ski racers. For those aged 10+, the time spent in the race course will depend on their ability and whether more time is required refining technique outside of gates. Key features of the Alpine Racing program include:
Structured alpine racing training sessions aimed to develop strong alpine skiing technique
Skill development in giant slalom and slalom gates (ability dependent)
Individualised feedback including video analysis
This program highlights technique, discipline and focus, all while ensuring fun.

All-Mountain Program
The Arc’s All-Mountain program offers a more versatile skiing experience while still keeping strong alpine skiing technique at the fore. It is tailored for young skiers who wish to explore various terrain and enjoy the freedom of skiing the whole mountain. Key features of the All-Mountain program include:
Exploration of different skiing disciplines including alpine ski racing, slopestyle, ski x and moguls
Focus on skills for varied snow conditions and terrains
Encouragement of creativity and personal expression on the slopes
This program is perfect for those who want to confidently ski the entire mountain, conquering whichever type of terrain is ahead of them.
A typical day in the All-Mountain program consistently includes time for technique development, which may involve drills to improve basic alpine skiing skills. Additionally, it includes sessions in the terrain park, ski cross course, moguls course or off-piste terrain.

Choosing between Alpine Racing and All-Mountain
When deciding between The Arc's Alpine Racing and All-Mountain programs, consider your child’s interests and goals. Whether they are drawn to the competitive nature of racing or the adventurous spirit of all-mountain skiing, The Arc provides excellent options to nurture their passion for skiing.
Mini & Tiny Arc
The Mini and Tiny Arc programs are designed for the youngest skiers, typically ages 4 to 7. Tiny Arc is specifically for the youngest skiers aged 4 years, while Mini Arc is for young skiers aged 5-7 years.
These programs are aimed at the younger siblings who are already confident skiing intermediate terrain. They focus on developing strong foundational skiing skills for children in a safe, playful environment with specialist children's instructors. Families can choose a full-day or half-day option for Mini Arc, while Tiny Arc is a half-day program. The goal is to build basic skills and comfort on skis without pressure or competition.
Key Features of Mini/Tiny Arc
Emphasis on fun and exploration
Focus on developing solid early technique that can then be applied into alpine racing and other skiing disciplines
Small group sizes for personalised attention
This program helps children develop a foundation that prepares them for competitive skiing programs later.

Choosing the Right Program for Your Child
Selecting the right program depends on your child’s age, interests, and skiing goals.
For the youngest skiers (ages 4-7): Mini and Tiny Arc is the best start to build confidence and strong skiing foundations.
For skiers who enjoy exploring and want to improve overall skills: All-Mountain offers a fun, balanced approach.
For those interested in competition and racing: Alpine Racing provides focused training and race opportunities.
Benefits Beyond Skiing Skills
All three programs at The Arc provide more than just skiing technique. They build confidence, teamwork and a love for the sport. Children learn goal-setting, resilience and how to handle challenges on and off the slopes. These life skills are valuable regardless of whether a child pursues racing or all-mountain skiing.
What to Expect from The Arc’s Programs
The Arc’s programs are guided by skilled coaches who emphasise technical growth along with enjoyment. The sessions are designed to offer ample opportunities for high repetition, whether through drills or in the gates, and provide personalised feedback. Parents are kept informed about progress and can interact with the coaches during daily pick-up for updates and equipment recommendations.
The daily 6-hour training sessions, conducted in 6-day blocks with high repetition, are physically demanding. Therefore, we urge our athletes to prioritise getting adequate rest overnight. We typically observe rapid progress throughout the program if athletes are focussed and get enough rest and refuelling overnight.
Final Thoughts on The Arc’s Ski Programs
Understanding the differences between Alpine Racing, All-Mountain and Mini/Tiny Arc programs helps families make informed decisions. Each program offers a unique path to developing skiing skills and enjoying the mountain environment. Whether your child dreams of racing or simply wants to explore the slopes with confidence, The Arc has a program to support their journey.
